Warehousing

Transloading
If you’re not familiar with shipping and logistics, you might not know exactly what “transloading” really is.
Transloading is a shipping term meaning the transfer of goods from one mode of transportation to another. This could be anything from car to plane, train to truck, or any other “trans-load” in the mode of transport for a shipment.
One of the most common instances of transloading that you will see at Legacy Express Trucking is truck (because, you know, we have a lot of trucks) to train, because of the location that we have in Joliet.
Transloading is an essential part of the national supply chain, and Legacy is glad to contribute to it with this new service.
Reloading
Oftentimes, shipments need to be reloaded when they arrive at our warehouse. Again because of our location (only about 2 miles from Union Pacific 4), our warehouse is the perfect location to adjust a shipment and make sure that it is safe and secure for long travel.
Reloading is exactly how it sounds: the shipment arrives in our yard, we unload it, and then we load it again.
It sounds “so easy a caveman could do it”, but the benefit of working with Legacy Express Trucking (apart from our great location) is that our team has nearly a decade of experience in taking care of cargo and ensuring safe travel.

Closing Thoughts
As Legacy expands into our newer, larger, high-tech location, we’re going to have to be able to provide services that in the past weren’t possible on a large scale.

We’re leaving a “Legacy”, and these new services will help our customers and ourselves reach a place we’ve all never been before.
